A hospitality property is more than its rooms. Lobbies, meeting and banqueting spaces, restaurants and bars, fitness and pool areas, back-of-house storage, laundry and housekeeping stores all hold furniture and equipment that cycles out — and most of it has never been near a guest corridor.

Event venues have a different rhythm again: furniture and staging that turns over between formats, seasonal decor, and the accumulation that builds in storage between events.

Both share the constraint that matters. Work happens when the space is not in use, through routes guests do not see, and nothing is ever staged where a guest would encounter it.

A hospitality clearance is judged on whether a guest noticed it, and guests notice routes rather than volumes. A crew crossing a lobby with a mattress undoes more goodwill than the refurbishment buys, however quickly it is done.

So the plan starts from the back: which service corridor, which freight lift, which loading point, and which doors stay closed. Everything else — crew size, sequence, how many rooms per shift — follows from what that route can carry.

The second constraint is that corridors are fire escape routes. Nothing is staged in them, at any point, which means the pace of the job is set by how fast material can leave the floor rather than how fast it can come out of a room.
