What Actually Happens to Your Junk

A diversion rate is a measurement. To publish one honestly you have to weigh what leaves each job, weigh what goes to each stream, and keep that record over time — which is a real operational commitment rather than a marketing decision.

This branch has not done that measurement, so it does not publish a number. Inventing one would be worse than saying nothing, and "we recycle up to 80%" — a phrasing common across this industry — is technically true of almost any load, because "up to" excludes nothing.

What can be said accurately is what the separation process is and where each category goes. If you want to know what happened to a specific load, ask, and you will get an honest answer about that job.

Hazardous and regulated material, which needs a licensed handler: wet paint, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, motor oil, fuel, propane and other pressurised cylinders, asbestos, medical and biological waste, and tires in quantity.

Tarrant and Dallas County both run household hazardous waste programs for residents, and those are the correct route. No hauling company can take that material instead, and one offering to is either subcontracting it or handling it improperly.

Refrigerant-containing appliances are a partial exception — they can go, but they go to a facility able to recover the refrigerant with a certified technician before the shell is scrapped, because venting it is illegal.
